instructors that brought tango to Longwood. Martha and Pracha have taught and
performed throughout New England. Open up the
academic year by meeting lots of new, friendly faces, arms, and legs! Classes
start September 9th |
TOPICS
Beginner
Tango:
Students
will learn the fundamental movements of tango, including the basic step, weight
shifts, ochos, turns. By the end of the course, students will be able to
navigate the floor and dance independently. Pre-requisites: None.
Advanced
Beginner/Intermediate Tango - Colgadas and Volcadas 101
In this
series, we will break down what many view to be among the most impressive moves
of tango dance. We will work on maintaining the axis for both single axis turns
and dancing apilado (forward lean) to produce dynamic and sumptuous colgadas
and volcadas. We will discuss appropriate use of muscle relaxation and focal strengthening
to improve comfort and ease of these more advanced movements.
Pre-requisites: At least 20 hours of tango classes
and dancing.
